HISPANIC WOMEN CONFERENCE PROMPTS INSPECTION OF STATUS QUO
We need to bring to light the awareness that over 50 percent of businesses are opened by Hispanic women. Hada has contributed to the economy of opening and maintaining since 1994 and rose in the business community. Grullon has now 15 sub-contractors working for her in the messenger service business in which they run clients’ business and personal errands from Palm Beach to Key West.

Ejecutivas hispanas en Miami sostienen que es un reto dificil para las mujeres ingresar en el mundo de negocios de esta ciudad, principalmente porque se respira un ambiente masculine. No obstante, se ha observado con el tiempo que un mayor numero de mujeres enfrenta este desafio y abre su propio negocio o ingresa al mundo empresarial en cargos importantes. Hada Grullon, Presidenta de Roy’s Delivery Service, miembra activa de la Camara De Comercio del gran Miami desde el año 1989, a visto un incremento de mujeres profesionales con su propio negocio, igualmente a visto un increment de 20 porciento en ventas.

TIRED OF GETTING LAID OFF, SHE CREATES SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS
Six years ago, Hada Grullon was out of the administrative assistant position she had held in the banking industry for over a decade. Armed with the skills and experience she had acquired in the industry, Grullon faced unemployment, but that experience turned her life around. Hada quoted “I had saved the industry thousands of dollars and increased productivity in my department, so I started to think I could do the same for myself”. In 1994 she started Roy’s Delivery Services, Inc, a personalized messenger service business that delivers everything from court documents to flowers. Roy’s started out with 5 clients and today she has over 300 which includes United Airlines, SunTrust Bank, Disney International, Chanel 4 to mention a few. Grullon’s story has inspired others, especially women, to make their dreams of owning their own businesses come true.

CELEBRATION WILL PUT SPOTLIGHT ON WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES
More than 500 women business owners are expected to gather today to celebrate the successes of the almost 78,000 women-owned companies in Miami-Dade. The National Association of Women Business Owners says Miami’s women-owned firms generate $29 billion in annual revenue and employ 35 percent of the local workforce. One of the women that will be highlighted at the NAWBO is Hada Grullon, president of Roy’s Delivery Services, a 5-year-old firm that has more than 300 customers locally and Latin America.

Celebrating 20 years in business, Hada Grullon is a bulldog a tenacious, talented self-made woman who turned an idea into a thriving business called Roy’s Delivery Service. Her company which has been around for 20 years, deliver just about anything. Today Roy’s takes in almost a million dollars a year in revenue. Today in addition to grossing nearly 7 figures revenues and having 2 offices, the company is debt-free, and continuously taking her delivery service to the next level.
